Diademed and draped bust left, featuring long hair gathered at the neck and a pointed beard; traces of an indeterminate symbol in the left field behind the head. Small, highly stylized diademed and draped bust left; surrounded by an Elymaean Aramaic legend.
Kamnaskires V was a king of Elymais, a semi-independent realm located in present-day southwestern Iran, ruling during the late 1st century BC. Elymais served as a buffer state that maintained its autonomy from the Parthian Empire, allowing its kings to issue their own regional coinage. The Kamnaskirid dynasty's coinage is notable for its distinct local portraiture and the gradual transition from Greek to Aramaic legends.
