Highly stylized bust left, wearing diadem and tiara with ear flaps; linear beard and prominent eye; dotted border. Abstracted archer (Arsakes I) seated right on throne, holding bow; monogram below bow; surrounded by severely degraded, blundered Greek legend.
Osroes II was a claimant to the Parthian throne who rebelled against Vologases IV around AD 190. His authority was likely concentrated in Media, as his coinage was exclusively struck at the Ecbatana mint. He maintained local power until approximately AD 208 during a period of dynastic fragmentation.
