Peroz I was a Sasanian King of Kings who ruled from AD 459 to 484. His reign was dominated by recurring conflicts with the Hephthalites in the east, which ultimately resulted in his death in battle. He is also noted for his efforts to mitigate the effects of a severe and prolonged drought that struck the empire.
